Miguel Mendez
Lawyer
Miguel Mendez is a resourceful lawyer specializing in human rights, refugee law and immigration law.
Admitted to the Quebec Bar in April 2019, he earned his law degree at Université du Québec Montréal (UQAM).
Miguel gained over five years of legal experience with a distinguished Montreal law firm, specializing in refugee and immigration cases.
While in law school, he served as a cultural animator, at a multicultural community center in Saint Michel.
He worked engaging with children and families from Haiti, Mexico, Colombia, India, Algeria and many more.
During his childhood, he arrived in Canada with his family, where they underwent the challenging process of a refugee claim.
The denial of their refugee claim is an important factor that ignited within him a fervent desire to help others navigate their own immigration journeys.
Driven by empathy and resilience, Miguel has dedicated himself to turning adversity into advocacy.
